Our Mission Statement: Our Literacy Council serves to empower individuals in our communities by advancing literacy in all its forms

GED success story August 2016 published in The Chronicle

Our Literacy Council provides a variety of services aimed at advancing literacy and helping with basic education for adults.

Our organization is a fully independent program housed at Centralia College, collaborating with the English as Second Language (ESL) and Adult Basic Education (ABE) programs, local community groups  and other agencies to reach those who seek a better quality of life.

Since 2012, we have been known as Our Literacy Council, reflecting the need and desire for community involvement in our organization as we continue to provide much-needed literacy services throughout the Lewis County region. In 2015 we revised our mission statement to “Our Literacy Council serves to empower individuals in our communities by advancing literacy in all its forms.”

We are working on expanding into Life Skills and Computer Literacy because we are seeing these needs in the community . Stay tuned!
